Surrender of Indian Passport and Relinquishment of Indian Citizenship



  1. Application in EAP-II form.
  2. Two photos with white background and frontal view (3.5 c. m x 3.5 c. m).
  3. Valid Passport in original, along with previous Indian passports if any, and photocopies of pages first two, last two and pages containing valid visa and other observations.
  4. Valid foreign passport, along with previous foreign passports if any, and photocopies of pages first two, last two and pages containing valid visa and other observations.
  5. Declaration Form prescribed u/s 8 of the Citizenship Act, duly attested by the Embassy of India, Muscat (An Indian citizen with passport and valid visa to accompany the applicant for signing the Declaration Form).
  6. The applicant should come personally or the documents should have been verified by the particular Honorary Consular Agent in Oman authorized by the Embassy.
  7. Penalty will be levied for reasons of possessing Indian passport concurrently with other country’s passport, if any, beyond the permissible period of 3 months. Please note the grace period of three months is reckoned from the date of obtaining nationality/citizenship of another country irrespective of the date of issue of passport from that country. Applicants are advised to complete the forms of changing passport/other Visa related formalities at the earliest possible from the date of issue of such letter of citizenship from that country.

  3. No Objection Certificate for applying for citizenship of another country (if required) R.O.7.8000/-. Indian Community Welfare Fund R.O. 1.000/-.
  4. Addition of Grandfather’s name in the passport (if required) R.O. 3.900/-. Indian Community Welfare Fund R.O. 1.000/-.

Events

Inauguration of Indian Calligraphy Exhibition by His Excellency Mr. Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al Rowas, Advisor to His Majesty Sultan for Cultural Affairs on 20th March 2017. The exhibition will remain on display till 25th March 2017 at Omani Society for Fine Arts during visiting hours from 9 am to 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm to 8 pm. All are requested to visit.

 

FESTIVAL OF INDIA IN OMAN CONCLUDES WITH INDIAN FOOD FESTIVAL AT GRAND HYATT (15-19 MARCH 2017): The much-awaited Indian Food Festival in Oman was inaugurated on 15th March 2017 evening at Grand Hyatt in a ceremony full of Indian instrumental music, classical and folk dance, ghazals and Bollywood songs. His Excellency Salim bin Mohammed bin Said Al Mahrooqi, Under Secretary for Heritage, Ministry of Heritage and Culture of Oman, was the Chief Guest. The Opening ceremony was also attended by HE Nasser Mohammed Khaleefa Al Busaidi, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Hilal Marhoon Salem Al Ma’amari, Chief of West Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and HE Saif Mohammed Al Ruzaiqi, Adviser Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Over 300 prominent Omanis, including businesspersons and officials, Ambassadors, members of diplomatic corps, expatriates and members of Indian community were present at the opening ceremony. The Indian Food Festival at Grand Hyatt will conclude on 19th March, 2017.
