Guidelines for Attestation of Educational Certificates / Other Documents

Embassy performs notorial functions like attestation of documents executed by Indian citizens. If the attestation relates to a document related to property matters, the fee prescribed is RO 8.800/- per applicant. For other attestations, the fee prescribed is O.R 4.900/- per applicant. The document to be attested must be presented in original by the applicant with a photocopy and signed before the Consular Officer, who would verify and satisfy himself about the identity of the executant/deponent from his passport and the service is generally rendered on the same day. The applicant must bring his original passport with validity and containing valid residence visa of Oman for availing all consular services.

All certificates (personal/professional) issued by the competent authorities in India are required to be attested by the General Administration Department ( Home Department) of the state concerned from where the said certificate/document has been issued. The same certificate/document should then be apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi or its branch offices in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati and Panaji.

Life Certificate Form

  1. Applicant has to come in person
  2. ORIGINAL PASSPORT and Resident Card of the applicant (who has got the valid Omani Visa and its Resident Card)
  3. Photocopy of the Passport = 1 set (1st, last, current visa page and other endorsement pages)
  4. Photocopy of the Residence Card of the applicant
  5. Two recent passport size photograph of the applicant
  6. The applicant has to put signature, date and recent passport number in all pages of the power of attorney. Then the applicant is advised to take the photocopy of the same. Signature in the power of attorney should have to tally with the signature in the passport

Application form to be duly filled and submitted in duplicate to the Embassy along with passport copy of the applicant (sponsor), original salary certificate attested by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) of the applicant (sponsor) and also the passport photocopy and visa photocopy of the person being sponsored. The relationship between the applicant and the individuals he is sponsoring must be established as per the passport. The applicant (sponsor) must come to the Embassy personally and sign the Affidavit before the concerned Consular Officer.

THE SAME CERTIFICATE/DOCUMENT SHOULD THEN BE APOSTILLED BY MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS, NEW DELHI OR ITS BRANCH OFFICES IN HYDERABAD, CHENNAI, KOLKATA, GUWAHATI AND PANAJI.)

The application form to be duly filled and submitted to the Embassy along with photocopy of the passport and 1 photograph.

  1. Applicant has to come in person.
  2. Original Passport and Residence Card of the applicant ( who has got the valid Omani Visa and its Resident Card). One set photocopy of the same.
  3. Original document (viz. Salary Certificate, Experience Certificate, Educational Certificate, Police Clearance Certificate, Birth Certificate, Death Certificate) authenticated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman. One set photocopy of the same.
  4. For attestation of Salary Certificate and Experience Certificate, please bring two recent passport size photographs.

Please Note: - Commercial documents, should be attested first by Oman’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and then Apostilled by Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After apostilled by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oman, the document need not be attested by Embassy of India, Muscat.

The Sultanate of Oman requires all certificates submitted to it- educational / professional or academic /birth / death certificates - emanating from India, to be authenticated by the General Administration Department of the concerned state government from where the document has been issued and the same certificate/document should then be apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi or its branch offices in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati and Panaji.

Note: All applicants should identify themselves by presenting the original passport. (In case of submission by a company, a request letter on company letter head and duly signed by the authorized signatory of the firm should be attached).

Apart from the above fee service provider fee of OMR 0.550 is required to be paid for each service.

Events

Inauguration of Indian Calligraphy Exhibition by His Excellency Mr. Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al Rowas, Advisor to His Majesty Sultan for Cultural Affairs on 20th March 2017. The exhibition will remain on display till 25th March 2017 at Omani Society for Fine Arts during visiting hours from 9 am to 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm to 8 pm. All are requested to visit.

 

FESTIVAL OF INDIA IN OMAN CONCLUDES WITH INDIAN FOOD FESTIVAL AT GRAND HYATT (15-19 MARCH 2017): The much-awaited Indian Food Festival in Oman was inaugurated on 15th March 2017 evening at Grand Hyatt in a ceremony full of Indian instrumental music, classical and folk dance, ghazals and Bollywood songs. His Excellency Salim bin Mohammed bin Said Al Mahrooqi, Under Secretary for Heritage, Ministry of Heritage and Culture of Oman, was the Chief Guest. The Opening ceremony was also attended by HE Nasser Mohammed Khaleefa Al Busaidi, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Hilal Marhoon Salem Al Ma’amari, Chief of West Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and HE Saif Mohammed Al Ruzaiqi, Adviser Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Over 300 prominent Omanis, including businesspersons and officials, Ambassadors, members of diplomatic corps, expatriates and members of Indian community were present at the opening ceremony. The Indian Food Festival at Grand Hyatt will conclude on 19th March, 2017.
