The Embassy of India and the Hindi Wing of Indian Social Club organized an evening of melody titled “Saare Jahan Se Achchhaa  Hindustan Hamara”  on 27th January 2008 to mark the 59th Republic Day of India at the Embassy Auditorium.

The Embassy of India and the Hindi Wing of Indian Social Club organized an evening of melody and Rubaiyaan titled “Saare Jahan Se Achchhaa  Hindustan Hamara”  on 27th January 2008 as part of the celebrations to mark the 59th Republic Day of India at the Embassy Auditorium.  Two Indian artistes, Mr. Indraneel Mukherjee a versatile singer and musician and Dr. Surender Bhutani, a leading writer and poet in Urdu and English kept the audience spell bound through the evening. The cultural evening, followed by dinner, was attended by more than 300 guests from various walks of life.  

On the occasion, an album of songs titled “Mazhab Nahi Sikhata Apas Mein Bair Rakhna” which begins with Dr. Allama Iqbal’s famous song Sare Jahan Se Achchhaa, along with Dr. Bhutani’s book Rubaiyat (in Hindi and Polish languages) was launched by H.E. Mr. Anil Wadhwa, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman.  The songs in the album recapitulate the greatness of India through music and instill the patriotic feelings.
