Eid Milan Open House at India House on 13 October 2007

 

An Open House on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr was held at the India House by Indian Ambassador, Mr. Anil Wadhwa and Eid Milan Committee, other affiliated associations and Indian Muslim Community on Saturday, 13th October 2007.

More than 600 Indians from all walks of life attended the Eid-Milan Open House and exchanged Eid Greetings. In his Address to the gathering, Ambassador Anil Wadhwa speaking in English and Urdu, conveyed greetings on his own and on behalf of the Embassy staff. He said that auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr is special as it is the culmination of fasting during the Holy month of Ramadan. He hailed the community’s cohesive and well-coordinated efforts to help the needy during the recent unusual natural calamity in Oman. He also lauded the benevolence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said towards the Indian Community in the Sultanate and urged Indians in Oman to further contribute and strengthen India-Oman bilateral relations in all spheres, particularly trade and investments. He further committed support of the Embassy to all Indians in Oman.           

The gathering was also addressed by Mr. C.M. Najeeb, General Manager of Towell Barwil Company on behalf of the Eid Milan Committee.
